چکیده

The nonlinear stability of two populations diffusing in a common bounded domain with nonlinear density-dependent dispersal of a general type is studied, under Robin boundary conditions. The stability and instability of the positive equilibrium are studied by the linear eigenvalues method. The nonlinear stability is studied with the Lyapunov direct method. In a particular case, global stability has been obtained. © 2011 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Impact of dispersal on the stability of metapopulations.

Dispersal is a key ecological process that enables local populations to form spatially extended systems called metapopulations. In the present study, we investigate how dispersal affects the linear stability of a general single-species metapopulation model. We discuss both the influence of local within-patch dynamics and the effects of various dispersal behaviours on stability. We find that pos...

ارزیابی پیوستگی سیمای سرزمین و کریدورهای مهاجرتی آهوی گواتردار در مناطق مرکزی ایران

Long-term survival of Goitered gazelles in central Iran has been threatened because of isolation of existing populations and genetic threats. Effective management of these small and isolated populations needs to evaluate landscape connectivity among core habitat patches. In the present study, resistance surfaces were mapped as a function of twelve uncorrelated variables using species distributi...

Influence of herbicides on yield stability of winter wheat cultivars under different sowing rates

Yield variability of selected winter wheat cultivars under different sowing rate and selected application, was investigated during 2006-2008, in the Lower Silesia region (South-West Poland). Experiments with two varieties, two levels of sowing rate and seven herbicides, including untreated object were set up on the same field, using split-plot method. For evaluation of yield stability Kang'...

The effects of density-dependent dispersal on the spatiotemporal dynamics of cyclic populations.

Density-dependent dispersal occurs throughout the animal kingdom, and has been shown to occur in some taxa whose populations exhibit multi-year population cycles. However, the importance of density-dependent dispersal for the spatiotemporal dynamics of cyclic populations is unknown. We investigated the potential effects of density-dependent dispersal on the properties of periodic travelling wav...

Quorum Sensing and Density-Dependent Dispersal in an Aquatic Model System

Many organisms use cues to decide whether to disperse or not, especially those related to the composition of their environment. Dispersal hence sometimes depends on population density, which can be important for the dynamics and evolution of sub-divided populations. But very little is known about the factors that organisms use to inform their dispersal decision. We investigated the cues underly...
